Dr. Inderveer Channa

Professor of Computer Science, TIET

Dr. Inderveer Channa is the Joint Director for the Centre of Excellence in Data Science and AI. She is the Professor of Computer Science in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at TIET, Patiala. Her research interests include Cloud computing, Energy aware computing and Machine Learning. She has more than 100 research publications in reputed Journals and Conferences. She has also worked on major research projects sponsored by Govt. funding agencies like UGC, AICTE, CSIR, DST, ICMR etc.

Dr. Tim Miller

Professor of Artificial Intelligence, UQ

Dr. Tim Miller is the Joint Director & Chair Professor for the Centre of Excellence, TIET-UQ . He is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Queensland. Tim's research draws on machine learning, reinforcement learning, AI planning, interaction design, and cognitive science, to help people to make better decisions. He has done work on areas including explainable AI, human-AI mixed-initiative planning, and human-centered decision support.

Associate Professor, TIET

Dr. Sachin Kansal is the Coordinator (Research and Innovation) for the Centre of Excellence in Data Science and AI. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at TIET, Patiala. He is an expert in robotics, with a research focus on advanced automation, human-robot interaction, and AI-driven systems. He has authored numerous research publications in reputed journals and conferences and has actively collaborated on major research projects funded by government agencies such as DST, SERB, MeitY.

Dr. Anju Bala is the Coordinator (Education and Training) for the Centre of Excellence in Data Science and AI. She is an Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at TIET, Patiala. She is an expert in Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing. She has authored numerous research publications in reputed journals and conferences and has actively collaborated on major research projects funded by government agencies such as DST, MeitY.

We facilitate student engagement with CoDSAI's research and innovation ecosystem through internships, projects, workshops, hackathons, and mentorship, fostering research aptitude and leadership.

Dr. Amrita Kaur serves as the Technical Lead for the Center of Excellence in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She specializes in the application of advanced technologies in the healthcare domain, with a strong research focus on intelligent healthcare systems, predictive analytics and AI-driven medical decision support. Her work also extends to healthcare data automation, clinical data mining, and the development of smart diagnostic solutions. Dr. Kaur has authored numerous research publications in reputed journals and international conferences, contributing significantly to the advancement of AI in healthcare. She holds several granted patents and is actively engaged in real-time healthcare projects, translating research innovations into practical, impactful solutions.

Dr. Maggi Bansal is an AI researcher, currently working as an Assistant Professor (Research) at CoDSAI, TIET, Patiala. She has completed a Ph.D. from TIET in the area of IoT and Cloud-enabled Smart Cities under the supervision of Prof. Inderveer Chana (TIET, Patiala) and Prof. Siobhan Clarke (TCD, Ireland). Her research interests include AI and GenAI for Smart and Sustainable Cities.

Dr. Gaurav Bharadwaj

CoDSAI, TIET, Patiala

Dr Gaurav is robotics researcher currently working as Assistant Professor, Research at CoDSAI, TIET, Patiala. He is the founder, MD and CEO of deep tech robotics startup, PaiByTwo Private Limited. He has completed Ph.D. from the Computer Science and Engineering Department under the supervision of Prof. R. Balasubramanian and Prof. N. Sukavanam at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He has done B.Tech from J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad (2013) and M.Tech from IIIT Allahabad (2017) under guidance of Prof. Sudip Sanyal.
